Madhumohan is an experienced performing artiste in Carnatic vocal music. He has performed widely in Chennai and other places in India and abroad.
He is trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical vocal music genres, having learnt from several leading teachersLate Shri. Kollegal Subramaniam, Late Shri. Calcutta Krishnamurthy, Shri. PS Narayanaswamy, Late Shri. TR Subramaniam, Late Dr. Narayan Rao Karhade and Late Shri. Pandit Jangaiah in India, culminating in training under the legendary composer-musician, Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna.
He picked up Diploma and a gold medal in MA music from Telugu University and obtained PhD from Madras University for his fundamental research on Pitch Analysis. His doctoral research work has been published. He has several scholarly research publications to his credit. He had been empaneled with Gandharva Maha Vidyalay, a premier pan-Indian music institute, for the Carnatic music curriculum and doctoral dissertations.
He has released music albums in different genres, including Thyagaraja Siva Keertanas in Carnatic music and Meri Chahat in Hindi with Sadhana Sargam.
Madhumohan is an electrical design engineer with the nuclear power industry in Canada and is a licensed professional engineer
[P. Eng] in Ontario, Canada. He secured B. Eng from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India and M. Eng from Concordia University in Montréal, Canada. He worked in several engineering positions in Canada, including an overseas teaching assignment with the University of Guyana, under the aegis of Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
To add to his engineering proficiency and musical facility, he is currently studying at the University of Toronto and pursuing his research interest in the biochemical and molecular mechanisms of patho-physiology and mitochondrial regulation in the cell.
