Dr. Madhumohan Komaragiri is trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical vocal music genres having learnt from several leading teachers in India. Currently, he trains full-time with the legendary musician, Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna on a one-on-one basis. He is an experienced performing artist in Carnatic music. He picked up Diploma and a gold medal in MA music and obtained PhD from the Madras University for his fundamental research on Pitch Analysis. He has several scholarly research publications to his credit. |
He has been empanelled with the Gandharva Maha Vidyalay, a premier pan-Indian music institute, for the Carnatic music curriculum and doctoral dissertations. He has released music albums in different genres. Madhumohan is also an electrical design engineer with the nuclear power industry in Canada and is a licensed professional engineer [P.Eng] in Ontario, Canada. He secured B. Eng from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India and M. Eng from Concordia University in Montréal, Canada. He worked in several engineering positions in Canada, including an overseas teaching assignment with the University of Guyana, under the aegis of Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Even while operating at such a high level of proficiency, he managed to pursue Indian classical music quite adeptly.
